| So one of my kids smashed my headset....by accident I'm sure I had a nice one, wireless, similar to an old telephone operator style. Only covered one ear and had an extended, adjustable mic. Bought it online years ago, don't remember where. What kind/type/brand is everyone else using? I bought a basic PS3 branded headset to use temporarily, but it's wired. Don't like wires. Any suggestions? |

| Is that the one that covers both ears and has a little mic sticking out of the right side?
I know I saw one like that. I was more looking for a wireless one that covers only 1 ear. |

| yeah thats the one, Have never had a wireless one eared one. So I'm not sure if i can give any advise in this matter. I had turtle beachs before the PS3 and I can say they are tops so if you can find a one eared wirless by them I would say you are in good hands. |

| See that's the problem. Been using one eared, wireless.
In 2+ years I've been through 3 of them. Doesn't seem to be a big manufacturer that makes one like that. |

| I've been using the single ear PS3 bluetooth wireless (which also works good with cell phones) and have been pretty happy with that. | |

| Found several on amazon, I was just looking yesterday. I ended up buying a 2-ear Turtle Beach set, but there are several one ear ones too. The 'special ops' one looks pretty cool, uses a throat mic. Links below.

| Those 2 ear ones look great.
I need to stick with a single ear though. Kids, wife, dog..need to hear what's going on in the house
I bought the PS3 chat headset. Only drawback is its not wireless.
I'll use this for now until I can find something else. |

| I used to have a Turtle beach headset until the kids broke it. I replaced it with the PS3 wireless headset and I have been very happy with the performance. |

| I was worried about the loss of being able to hear what was going on too, but I've been happy with my PS3 wireless headset. It takes some getting used to, but it's nice to be able to tell the wife that I can't quite hear her sometimes; even if she knows better.
If you're just looking for chat, though, any Bluetooth headset with noise cancelling will work. I used to use my Icon for the PS3 and my phone. | |

| I have the Turtle Beach PX-21. They are a wired set with 2 ears. However, I mention this because I usually play with on ear on and one half off so I can hear the kids if they start crying. So you CAN get the same effect as a single ear set. | |

| I just bought my PS3 wireless headset this evening, I got tired of using my damn bluetooth. It will take some getting use to. I put the setting on 7.1 and almost pissed myself. It was strange to hear crap being you. It will also take me some time to get use to the microphone. If I sound like I'm in a stairwell you'll know why! | |

| Turtle Beach wireless PX5's for me too. I originally had the wired DP11's for a few days but returned them because of a noise problem and I also didn't like the mess of cables with the wired headset | |

| Yeah, I had the TB DPX21's. A lot of wires but they were extremely long. 7.1 Surround sound. I loved them. They were my precious. I got them off ebay for about $110.00. But, four months after purchase I developed a short in the headset wire going from the headset to the volume control box. Eventually it shorted out completly and now all u can hear is chat. And guess what, even though they were bought brand new in the packaging TB does not honor their warranty if you purchase it from eBay. So, money was short and I bought the PS3 wireless $99 7.1 headtset. Its ok for the money but the sound is nowhere near the quality of the TB DPX21's. What pisses me off even worse is I realized after I purchased them that I could have bought the TB PX21's and added it to the TB DSS piece and it would have been a new DPX21's. I had no idea that it used the same head set as the PX21. Coulda done that for $79. Oh well, live and u learn. I am gonna go buy them soon and will have two headsets so the wife and I can have one for each PS3 come BLOPs 2. | |

| Bought the TB PX21 at SAMs for $69 to fix the TB DPX21 headset we have. I've tried both the Turtle Beach and PS3 headsets and prefer TB ones. I've also noticed that when Hop uses the TB headset he can hear me and he can hear the baby crying but I can also hear all the chat. When he uses the PS3 headset I hear nothing and he can't hear me. So I'd say go with Turtle Beach. |
