| Starting to get really annoyed with having to manually mute everyone (when not in a clan party)... there must be a way of doing this so I can get rid of the screaming kids when the loading screen is on - I've looked everywhere (okay may have missed it) on the Xbox to see how to disable talk for anyone not in friends but nope... help ;p |

| Hook your mic up, then take it off of your head. That, or get a headset with a chat volume knob and turn that down.

| Make sure you have your audio settings to play through mic only, then just start your own party. You can play in a party by yourself. If you play S&D or FFA I believe it makes you go into game chat though. |

That's what I do too. Luckily in Blops 2 there will be a one button hit to mute the entire lobby.  | |

| Funny, we were just talking about this last night on PS3.
Wondering aloud if they'd ever give you a "mute all" for anyone not in your party.
Hopefully in BLOPS2 |

| My TurtleBeach headset has a chat volume that I mute when playing by myself.
It has an on/off button for voice and a volume slider for listening to chat.
Both are separate from the game volume.
Having a nice headset makes a huge difference. |

| Good advice everyone, cheers. Am going to invest in a new headset soon, but till then I'll just party play myself... sounds a little weird when I put it like that ;p |

| Here's a question to add to the answer of the original question...If your playing in a party by yourself and another clan mate jumps online and starts playing the same game your in ie. black ops, mw3, or whatever and they are on your friends list can they simply jump into your solo party and start playing with you? This would be a good thing, an open end party where friends or clan mates could simply jump in and join. I ask this due to my lack of xbox social function knowledge know how.  | |
