Prestige

Well I pressed the ugly button today. I can easily say it hurts a lot less then the other COD games. Was wondering what everyone used for the prestige award and permanent unlock. I unlocked black hat and haven't used the award yet.

i wasted mine on ghost, probably will use the next one on BB's

I thought about the bb but opted for the black hat. I thinks its kind of fun to hack some ones claymore or bb in a door way fire a couple shots at them and get a surprise when they come to get me. Got a few good rage mics for doing it

you're right i've been using them in FFA, it really pisses people off

It sometimes makes me happy to get someone like that when I'm having a crap game. Or you can camp your care package and get it quick with it and smoke who ever is trying to get it

I used my unlocks for ghost and scavenger. Haven't decided on my next prestige unlock yet

I've used one on AN94 and got it prestiged twice by now. Second went towards XPR-50, and the next one will be ghost for sure. Leter on i'm planing to unlock KAP 40, they work just like FMG in both hands.

First was used on Flack Jacket, next will be the Assault Shield.

Ghost on my first.... well worth worth it. Trying to to decide between flak and black hat on my 2nd.

I did the AN94 and my.second prestige was engineer.. love it!! Third one not entirely sure yet.. haven't pushed the button for my third prestige.. first i am trying to complete some challenges..

yeah the process wasnt nearly as painful as prev black ops - i havent spent my permaunlock yet - im thinking it'll be on flak jacket tho once i get it unlocked again here in a few more levels

This is correct. Right after I prestiged, I went to Flak Jacked in my create a class and there was an option to use the perma unlock. So you have to get to level 4 at least, but once there, you can use the perma unlock on whatever you want.

Are you effing sh*tting me?? I've been waiting this entire prestige to get to level 55 to unlock ghost so I could perma-unlock it!!

The way they've changed ghost doesn't make me feel dirty about using it anymore...I love to flank & the changes they've made makes ghost an offensive perk now.

Can't believe i've gone this entire prestige (level 48) w/out knowing that I could've unlocked it from level 1. Damn.

I've been putting all my time in on BO2 last couple weeks so hit the ugly button couple times so far. I fell prey to the myth thinking you had to unlock in order to perm unlock until someone set me straight. Went ghost first then the last AR on second mostly cause they would take the longest to get next time around. As you start burning through prestiges you'll notice doesn't take long to hit level 30ish and get plenty of the essentials unlocked. Side note: opening move (capping neutral B flag first 500 xp helps) I still have some questions about prestige unlocks, not perm unlocks, most specifically the reset one, what do you lose what do you keep?

Here is how I understand the regular tokens work and and the Toke Refund:

After you prestige, everything is locked again. After I prestiged the first time, I had to unlock the Type 25 again and the PDW. Perks are locked too. So not only do you have to get to the requisite level (e.g. Level 34 for the Shield), but you need a token to unlock it. Unless you use the permanent unlock (which you can do for ANY item at any time, beginning with Level 4 when you get Create a Class).

Anyways, the Refund tokens only matters if you decide to stop prestiging. Since the 55 tokens you get every Prestige cannot unlock EVERYTHING, if you stop before Master Prestige, you will have items that are locked forever once you use them up. The refund will give you back all 55 tokens and locks everything, and you can decide what you want to unlock then.

Actually, I suppose you can use the Refund at any point in the prestige when you decide "Hey I didn't mean to unlock all the Sniper Rifles, they suck. I want my tokens back."

Once you get to Master Prestige, i.e. complete Level 10 Prestige (essentially 11th prestige), then EVERYTHING unlocks and you have access to everything.

so are you saying if you use permaunlock on an item you're NOT up to level to use yet - it'll become available PRIOR to the supposed unlock level???

Yes, once you press the button and prestige you get the Perma unlock token. That can be used on any weapon or perk that needs a token, and it can be used right away. So no, you don't need to wait to get to Level 55 again to perma unlock Ghost. You can do it at level 4. If you want to just use the regular token (one each level, right? So 55 total) on it, then you have to wait until level 55 to unlock it as normal.

No doubt - learned my lesson...and it's a harsh one as I've lost 44 levels of playing with a perk i coulda unlocked long ago! lol

My plan is to perma-unlock ghost tonight, and then use my next perma-unlock on flack-jacket.

i totally didnt use ghost before my first prestiege i thought i wouldnt be able to get it cause i didnt buy thank goodness i could

first will be ghost second will be scavenger !

I havent used ghost in this game yet, but after reading about it i might have to give it a try since it seems to work better for the offensive minded player, and who knows my caps might catch up to my defends, and the answer to the camper question is no. i usually patrol between the B flag and their flag and usually flank them from behind while they try to cap b.
