Weapon Prestige ?

Does anyone know the answer to this? If I am almost finished with a weapon prestige and I prestige to the next level, does my progress with that weapon reset? Hope I worded that correctly. Thank you.

If you prestige a weapon you have to start over unlocking all the attachments.

I have already prestiged the weapon and am going for max prestige. I am 3 attachments away from having all attachments unlocked. NOT all the camos though. I am also at level 51 and may prestige before I have everything done for weapon I am using. If I go to next prestige level, 4 to 5, do I lose everything I have unlocked and accomplished towards weapon prestige. Hope that is more clear.

Your weapon status will stay where it is and is not reset, even if you prestige from 4 to 5. Once you are able to unlock the gun in your next prestige level, the gun will still be as you left it with 3 attachments left to get to max prestige.
