Burst AR Poll

Really starting to appreciate the burst capability of the ARs as opposed to run/gun with SMGs. With the connection issues in party run/gun is becoming a bit problematic.

I've had good success with the SWAT select fire to auto, but have tapped into my permanent-unlock AN-94 in manual burst mode (no select fire).

I'll try it out myself, but wanted to put this out there and get your expert feedback on a good AR burst mode class, tradeoffs etc.

i) AN-94 - decent iron sights (frees up a slot); manual bursts
ii) SWAT - crappy iron sights (need a sight); use standard burst
iii) M8A1 - don't recall iron sights on this (think it needs sight); manual 4 round burst

What do y'all think of the 3 bursters above? Is there a clear winner?

Swat is garbage for me; and the M8a1 is decent but rarely gets used because why use it if you have the An94

To save a slot, can't AN94 be manually burst? Is there a big difference with select fire?

Yes there is a big difference between the 2 once you get your timing down - try it out and go with which ever one you like the best

According to some YouTube analysts... the AN94 in select fire burst offers a slower burst rpm than if you get the timing just right with your finger. It's a built in penalty for the select fire.

All auto weapons in BO2 can be manually bursted very nicely if you get the timing down. Having trigger stops and adjustable triggers really makes it easy.

I love bursting the scar manually. Hold down the trigger for a second (very rough estimate) and you have a nice 3 round burst that kills anyone in close to medium ranges and a 4-5 for long range at just a little bit longer of a squeeze.

Of the three listed, the AN-94 in burst mode is my least favorite. The Swat and M8A1 are both really good guns, with the M8 being the better of the two and my personal favorite assault rifle.

AN94 with manual burst is great. Same with the SCAR. I used to use the SWAT quite a bit with ACOG...but somethings changed and I've dropped it.

I have actually had a lot of success manual bursting the LSAT . A couple of quick bursts followed by a long barrage (or vise versa)...not only helps you get and keep on target, but it also seems to throw people off. I can't count the times after a barrage I've been rushed...I think they think I'm reloading...and then surprise..."Burst-Burst"

I love the M8 in hardcore, I've had some beastly games with it
