| In another post some of us were discussing strategies on the best and most efficient way to gain XP to level up. I mentioned that I had heard and read from numerous sources that in MW3 Domination was the best game type for earning XP. Someone had also brought up Kill Confirmed This is another game type with the potential for good XP gains. Now some would say "what about team defender for xp?" and I'd say "what about team defender?" NOBODY I KNOW PLAYS IT LOL. As far as drop zone goes for xp it seems like it's sometimes a really short game and since you can't use strike packages it limits your strike package challenges. I'm using Kill Confirmed and Domination because these are game modes that you can play with a team or "Lone Wolf" in and still do relatively decent in. Team defender really needs a full team communicating and classes set up specifically for that game type to be successful.
So....I've thought over the KC vs. Dom for XP discussion. It may be apples and oranges but I still believe Domination is the best way to consistently gain more XP. My reasoning is this. In Kill Confirmed the XP generally has to be divided among the team. What I mean by this is that the tag cap is 65 so divided by 6 is 10 to 11 tags per player. Now you can factor in denies as well but just like confirm tags they are not shared XP which means one person will get more than others. It's kind of the same way in Dom where some will get more caps than other BUT the opportunity is there for SHARED XP when a whole team caps a flag and each person on the flag gets rewarded. I thinks it's a more "share the wealth" kind of thing in Dom. Kill confirmed can be a rather short and limited game if the tags are collected promptly so there is less of a chance for high point streaks to kick in for extra kills for XP (generally speaking). A domination game played between two objective based teams can last for what seems like an eternity and when the flags are constantly capped over and over your game xp has the potential to go up a significant amount. PLUS the fact the caps count towards point streaks is a huge deal. You could theoretically throw a care package with a pave low or osprey gunner inside without even getting a kill by capping a couple of flags and shooting down a UAV. This would be much less the norm in KC.
Finally there is the overall kill potential to discuss. I am fairly certain that I have never seen anyone in KC get 40+ kills in a game (not that I can really remember and definitely not consistently) but I have witnessed team mates get 50 to 60 kills in dom several times and have been on the other side against people who ended up with better than 70 kills on dome (yikes) and I did watch the replay in theater mode and they were legit (guy was a beast). I think the potential for the high TOTAL NUMBER OF KILLS in domination as well as shared points for capping flags over and over give domination the slight edge in the XP department. Domination also has the higher potential for spawn traps and choke point defense potentially setting up a team for (sometimes ridiculously) higher kill numbers.
KC gives you the potential to gain really good XP but I just think it's a bit more limited and restrictive for the average player than domination to give you those points on a consistent basis. Plus I saw a youtube video where a team won a ranked game of domination without getting one single kill in the entire match (it didn't do much for their KD lol) so they got xp for capping flags and bonus xp for the win which is impossible to do in Kill confirmed.
I think it also come down to what you're good at or comfortable with. I played with a guy who was an S&D guy but he was super good with a KD around 2.0 so of course he's going to use S&D's high xp per kill to rank up quickly but that's still limiting your higher point streaks and overall kills for weapon challenges. Seems like the best thing I do in search is freakin spectate after getting killed right off the bat lol |

| The apple and orange part of the debate is KC games typically last 5-7 minutes and Dom matches will usually run 10+ minutes.
The best thing you can do is go play a few matches of each game and then check elite for your SPM. Your SPM is more accurate than score per game because different game types take longer. This is not taking into account your challenges... your SPM = how fast you rank...as a general rule
The more active (killing, capping/defending, collecting tags, shooting shit down) you are the faster you'll rank up. |

| A game of DOM can have anything from 1000 to over 3000 XP on the scoreboard depending on how aggressive the other team is at capping. I will run assault for easier teams and support against better ones.
A game of KC will be over 2000XP if you play aggressively, and not dependant on the other team. I also do not feel guilty for having my Speshul class for KC since the assault package is only useful if you can recover the tags before they expire. The specialist package is always a good XP mine combined with the guaranteed XP from tag recovery (including 250 for your own) I always seem to get more from KC.
The only way I really know this is that if after I've prestiged and play dom it takes 2 games to get to level 4ish, but can typically do it after one playing KC. |

| I don't mind dom but it has to be played as a group, if I play with random's I get a lose and lots of deaths.
If I play KC with randoms I can still get the same sort of score (xp) as I get with a group of 30's.
KC seems to suit me better then dom unless its a group from the clan.

I have had a few games of 45+ I would agree that's its not the norm. I tend to go 25-35 a game.
