Alright, I'm starting program at my gym starting on 1/14 that runs through 3/10, fifteen days before our baby is due. Now is the time, anyone with we?

My wife and i started a new campaign to return to the weight we met at. for me that's 170. We started Dec. 10th. not a new years resolution or anything but i wan't to be there by my birthday (Feb 18). I started at 185. I'm now 181. its not a lot but its happening.

Good luck man. I have made it my goal to run the Disneyland Half Marathon this year. September 1. I started to run a little before the Holidays, but that fell off, so we're picking it back up this week. 3 mile run tomorrow.
And I'd LIKE to end up at 170. I'm about 195 right now. I guess it's all perspective. lol

I'm with you slam...though I can't do the Gym, I'll start the South Beach Diet on Monday and we can compare our whatevers as we morph.
I'm 6'2" and at like 187 ...so 170 would be cool

You guys looking to loose weight should all just try Paleo (hate that fucking word and some of the Paleo strict) for a month and you'll loose all your extra body fat and (if you're lifting like you should be) even gain a little lean mass. (though gains come after initial loss through maintaining a slight caloric surplus with loads of protein)
I've been grain free (not 100% strict.. ill cheat and have corn tortilla chips or quinoa white rice now and then) for almost 3 years and it's truly crazy how much better you feel.
I hate fad diets and the like, and i'm not a Paleo Nazi.. but the basic idea of being active and lifting... eliminating grains and processed foods, and increasing healthy fats is pretty much a no brainer.
Oh... and deadlift/squat/press
