| I've only been playing FPS since this Christmas, played MW2 for a month before getting MW3. So the following will be to help out noobs like me (who's stats are horrible) - hopefully it will help you not get so frustrated in the beginning!
Levelling Up - Pretty easy to find alot of different opinions on this, here's mine. If levelling up is your highest priority; I've found Kill Confirmed to be the best game mode, running hardline as my 2nd Perk, and Specialist package. Even though you likely are not stringing together alot of kills, you will be completing not just the Perk Challenges, but also getting bonus points everytime you get a kill and for completing the Specialist Challenges for each perk. Pay attention to all challenges, concentrating on completing those that are closest and worth the most.
Winning - If you're playing in a clan/party where winning is a higher priority to you than levelling up, you'll be most helpful running Support - since the kills carry over and it doesn't matter if you die or not. Running hardline with just UAV and CUAV (just run two), means you will just keep cycling through those two over and over - being a tremendous help to your team. Leave the assault or higher kill streaks to the other, more advanced members of your team.
Other things you can do to help the team are: - run recon, and keep throwing flash grenades (or using an xm25) to "paint" the enemies on your entire teams radar - Use portable radar/scrambler, as your entire team benefits from it. - Be your team's counter air-support; carry the Stinger as your secondary and shoot everything down as soon as it's up
Tactical Layout - My accuracy is likely one of the worst out there - an astoundingly low 2%-3% with SMG's, 8% with T-95. Yesterday, I switched to Tactical layout, and immediately I'm winning most 1-on-1 close quarters gun fights, and my accuracy immediately (1st game) goes to 15%+ with SMG's! For the next 10 games or so, each was between 15%-20% accuracy. Not the best - but a HUGE improvement for me! Give it a try! TmarTN (popular youtuber) recently posted a video on drop-shotting, saying it's not for true beginners - I couldn't disagree more. If you don't believe me, you can look up my stats on Elite and see exactly when I made the switch yesterday morning.
Camping - I would guess that most that are brand new to FPS will start out being somewhat, if not exclusive, campers (where you hide and wait). I did this as well, but quickly found that CAMPING IS BORING!! It's alot more fun (and satisfying) to run around with an SMG or shotgun, getting into a lot of fire-fights. A side benefit to "rushing" in Kill Confirmed is you'll probably retrieve 90%+ of your kill tags - helping your team win and increasing your score/bonus.
Other random tips - - use YouTube to find tips on classes, maps, weapons, techniques, etc. - be sure to match your weapons/perks with the given map
Good Luck, and feel free to send me a FR if you're on XBOX.

| Nice thoughts here. One thing, the UAV and CUAV don't stack, so if you get it, use it before you get another one. You can only have one in the queue at a time, or you lose it.
This is for all KS, but matters more if you run the low ones because you might start with two (flag cap and 1 kill) to get the UAV, kill one more guy to get the CUAV and if you forget to use the first UAV and get a double kill next, you lose that first one. | |

| Good stuff in this post...I would add to find a couple guns you like and stick with them...for me when things aren't going well I turn to the ACR when I'm fighting at longer distances and the P90 when I'm in close quarters. I find these two guns to be the easiest to shoot.

| Yeah I am jeolous. I see so many good players and I am at the bottom if the bin covered with dust. I just don't get it. I get a good came now and again but nothing great. I don't seem to be improving. I hope I will eventually figure it out. |

| One other thing I've tried to do is NOT RUN. When you run, you are vulnerable to being killed because you can't shoot back. So if you find yourself running around all over the place and losing gun battles, slow it down and be a little more strategic. | |
