Crysis 3 Multiplayer Beta 1/29 - 2/14

So far it seems like a pretty positive review from all. I am going to download it tonight or tomorrow to check it out in realtime. Sounds like a entertaining time.

As long as people aren't looking for a COD clone/experience i'm sure you'll be happy. The movement is smooth... graphics look great... cool weapons (great sound effects on them)... very well designed maps with tons of hiding spots (important in hunter) and vertical engagement options. Annnnndd the coolest "kill cam" around... it puts together a Highlight Reel of epic kills that happened during that round.

It is fun. I have no clue what I am doing other than jumping and stomping on the crash site. Not sure about this invisible stuff but willing to run around like an idiot

Yeah i'm surprised at just how invisible it makes you... pretty damn perfectly invisible unlike halo and other games with invisible camo!

How long does it take to download? I'm gonna try to load it tonight

Took me a few minutes... but the Revolution expansion, about the same size took me like an hour! There must be some people/download reason.

Took me about 30 minutes to download and 10 minutes to install.

After playing it for awhile it would be nice to have some sort of hitmarker and the mini-map could use some work as it is kind of a clouded mess. But pretty cool overall and probably more enjoyable if I take the time to learn a little more about it.

Dano it depends entirely on how fast your internet is. Mine right now sucks worse than ever - I'm pulling a whooping 0.5mbit down per second. Your shittiest of shitty cable plans give you 16x that - to give you some perspective.

Yeah movement was good just wish I could hit something. I died more then a cod game.

So I played for a couple hours on this last night and think the overall game is good. Lots of texture like Battlefield so you do have to pay attention and smooth play action. I conquer on the mini map, I dont like the clarity of it nor the fact that the damn thing jiggles around when you run. the only reason I can see them making the map move is to slow the game pace down but I still don't like it. Hit markers would be nice since alot of shots are long distance due to map size and the only other thing at this point is that the "Hunter" mode game play is way to short at 90 seconds to eliminate the other guys before you flip flop to the become the hunted.
Did end up on the top of the leader board once or twice for a change. Yahoooooo!

Ouch BD. You need to give that hamster some meth to speed up that download.

The coolest part of this game for me is the power slide. You know I love me some dolphin dive, but this slide where I can turn and shoot in the middle of it is fun as hell.

holy shit with everything set to very high and absolutey maxed out graphics settings - its amazing..........amazingly slow lol

my pc is no chump either i7 with cross fired 2gb 6950's and 16gb memory and the game is unplayable for me even with most settings brought down to high

ill continue to bump them down, upgrade drivers etc to try and get it to play better

Damn son! Uhhh if you are going to have to downgrade it so much, might it be better just to.....oh I don't know....maybe download it on xbox?

ok I knew something was up - I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling video drivers because I could not get into the control panel to verify the xfire was configured correctly (which it was not)

so its running off both video cards now and i can play it reletively smooth with all settings set to high and the amount of detail is just insane - bushes, grass, etc. sway and move when you shoot near or through them

as mentioned above though some sort of hit detection would be nice (hit marker or even a sound) - god damn quite a few times i was shooting at fuckers with a shotgun to find out in the killcam they still had full health and shield

im going to download the xbox verison to see how it plays in comparison - on pc it really seemed like the mouse had input lag or there was added friction to moving - im unsure if this was intentional or what - i know they do add "friction" to ADS in other games.

its certainly entertaining and fast paced im really surprised how easily I can flank ppl - just too bad I can't seem to hit them LOL

talk about washed out - i played mw3 one or two games last night lol god damn does that look like shit compared to bo2 but i played with a solid 3 bar baby lol

anyhow maybe its a console port that makes it seem that way - its vivid and bright on pc dark shadowy areas you can still see if someone is hiding out in

the hit detection is a total bummer for me and yes the mini map is almost useless

I played this for a couple of hours last night - I gotta say...I liked it.

It DEFINITELY takes a few minutes to get situated and understand the controls. However, once you get the hang of the cloak/armor and the ability to 'super jump' & scale WHILST being invisible - it's pretty damn cool.

Pro tip: uncloak prior to firing your weapon. If you fire your weapon while invisible, it drains all of your energy immediately. Not a huge deal b/c energy rejuves pretty quickly, but if you have the drop on a guy - uncloack, kill him & immediately re-cloak.

I'm going to give this some more time. I only played the hardpoint like game, as thats where most of the ppl were playing last night. Didn't jack with my classes yet, but I'm going to set up some customized classes - last night I just played the default assault class - wasn't horrible.

If it will allow parties, this could be a LOT of fun with some 30s teamed up!

Managing the power has been an issue for me. I keep playing with the rush hard CoD mindset while cloaked and shooting while cloaked. Of course that leads to me getting killed really quick. If I can stay powered up it takes a lot of bullets to take me down. AK, if you like shottys I highly recommend using one in this game because it destroys. I love the 2 maps on this game and I am really looking forward to seeing the rest of them on release. It probably isn't a day 1 purchase but I will most likely get it soon after release.

Pretty sure you can party up in the demo just like in the full game. Could get 30vs30 Hunter mode! Now THAT would be some badass fun! lol

Yeah, the maps just look awesome. It'll take some getting used to before i fully understand where you can & can't go/scale/jump. I died several times trying to climb/scale something that was unclimable. lol

My next session will be to figure out the different classes/weapons. I kept getting killed by a cross-bow sort of weapon that looked totally badass...but I don't think I've unlocked it yet.

I'm sure there's variations on the "perks" as well, I know I saw one dude (in a killcam) that was using thermal imaging and he could totally see me when I was invisible - pretty cool.

I did notice that I had 1 perk that automatically turned my armor on when I got hit - but I still died fairly quickly most of the time.

Getting the handle of cloaking is definitely what takes some time to get used to but I tend to wait until I am in close to someone so I can sneak up and also have found out the hard way that uncloaking prior to shooting is best. Now I just have to get the controls set so I can power jump while running. For what every reason being left handed is always a handy cap in shooter games.
