| I have been wanting to get an Xbox for a long time just to check it out and expand my gaming experience. Recently I was fortunate enough to be in a position to do it so I pulled the trigger last week. I got BF3 and Halo and played the campaigns so that I could get familiar with the games, the controller and the whole setup. Last night was my first real attempt at some multiplayer action outside a brief run while the Halo servers were being worked on. SO. MUCH. FUN!!!
First off, the XBL stuff is great. I have fumbled around with it and still don't really know all the features, but I can see why xbox fanboys pound their chests about this thing. It adds another dimension to the online experience. On to the games. I jumped on Halo and joined FightingOkra and BlackDeath for some campaign co-op. Yeah, multiplayer matches will be there and will be fun, but I had to get in on this whole concept of playing a campaign with other people. This has to happen for every game. I have always wished there was a way to include others during the regular old campaign and Halo waved it's magic wand and dropped it in my lap. I had a lot of fun doing the campaign solo, I had 10x more fun playing it in a party. It is really going to get fun once we get a little deeper in the game and the shit hits the fan.
Now the controversial Battlefield 3. Up front, everything that has been said about this game is true. Those who love this game are right, those who hate this game are right. After 2 hours of play, I have to say I love it! I reserve the right to hate it later but I love it right now. If I was looking for a CoD like experience then this game doesn't do it. This is completely different and stands on it's own in my eyes. I was blown away by what I saw on the screen. I caught myself taking cover and sitting and watching jet fighters and choppers go at each other and battle tanks. Thanks to Okra for getting me in these vehicles because that is a blast. What is the first thing I do when I got in a tank? Blow up trees and blast buildings and brick walls. Why? Because it looks awesome. The realism (what I perceive to look real because I have no first hand frame of reference) really attracts me. It is a slower paced game than other out there. But then again, if I wanted to get into any action I didn't have a problem finding it. It is also a benefit for a complete noob and not so skilled gamer like me. Instead of going 9-27 I could go 3-9. Oh but those 3 were a glorious mix of a tank blast on a jet, shredding someone while mounted on a heavy gun and picking a dude up off the ground while slicing him up with a knife. Yeah, this ain't Call of Duty and this is OK by me. I love the fact that I can now let Call of Duty do what it do, BF3 can do what it do and Halo do what it do and I have some really fun options. Thanks to Okra, BD and Newfie for showing me the ropes and putting up with my Tourette like reactions. FUCK YOU TREE!!! Who do I need to see to chip in on this server because I want to spend some time in this game.

| Time to get borderlands 2 man, that game is so much fun co op you can't believe. the best part is the challenge scales with the amount of people you play with, AND your loot does too. | |

| I might do Borderlands soon. I know I am going to be pretty engaged with the Halo and BF3 for the moment though. Slam, I am thinking about the Cronus for the future. While at Gamestop they had a Sabertooth on the shelf so I had to get it. I really like it, but it will take some time to get used to. I love that they have the PS3 style D pad and the bottom rockers are great...although I only use one on the right side because my hands are too big for both (unless I want to use both rockers with 1 finger). Most of the "getting used to the controls" on the Xbox for me is learning what the hell A,B,X,Y,RB/LB, RT/LT are without having to look at it | |

| Glad you are enjoying it so far Nuke.
I know I'm glad to have another person to play BF3/H4 with at night.
The most confusing button to me was always when somebody would say...."Press the X button".......and I'd hit what is the "X" on the DS. You get used to it fast though.
You just got a little taste of BF3 last night. There are other game modes where the vehicles don't play nearly as large a role. Might try to hit up some of those tonight. |

| I kept trying to jump in the tank and was pushing the X button because that is usually an interact button on the PS3, and of course the X on that controller is the A on xbox. Nuke confused. I'm just a caveman, this new world frightens and confuses me. My primitive mind cannot grasp these concepts. I am willing to play any type of game modes. I don't know what I am doing so I just run around and try to kill people and blow shit up. I do like them vehicles though I seem to drive them like Junior Seau. I am going to change up my classes so I can run around and revive some people this time if I don't get dead myself. Y'all tell me what you need and I will try to git'r done. | |

This is what I use so I can use my Scuf on the PS3. That is one awesome product right there. I'm going to let two friends of mine know about this thing today. Both would love to use a different controller on their main system. I may pick one up for myself as well to use when I play on the PS3. |

| Good to have you here on the Xbox side Nuke. Look me up when playing BF3, my fav game without a doubt. Not that I play many If you like the destruction aspect then get on the aftermath maps. There seems to be more of it on them and I have been able to take down the small buildings by driving a tank through them. Awesome shit. | |

| I figured that was the case....you were cutting in and out then I looked up at the screen and you were gone. That co-op campaign is a hell of a lot of fun.
I definitely will Daddio. Driving tanks through buildings sounds like my kind of party. | |

| Nuke don't look at the controller. I have both and the coolest thing is that the buttons are usually in the same place for both systems and usually do the same thing. As for the Sabertooth they ROCK! They are amazing I am surprised that you where able to get one at Game Stop since they are almost backorderred on line. I was able to get one and between that and major changes in my game play style I have become a different person in CoD games. And BTW Welcome to the Darkside | |

| I thought the triggers were flipped from the L1/L2 and R1/R2? Kept messing me up when I played my friends xbox on MW3. | |

| ^^^ think you're right WD... isn't left L1 ADS and R1 fire on PS? Those are the grenade buttons and the ADS and fire are below at L2 and R2 on xbox. | |

| Yes, the triggers and bumpers are reversed on the PS3/xbox.
PS3 is bumpers to ads/fire (they call them R1/L1) while the triggers on the xbox ads/fire.
The triggers on the ps3 controller are more "occasional use" type "triggers" so they use the bumpers instead. They just feel really awkward being curved outward and "squishy" so I don't think they'd work well as the fire button. I used to switch the r1/r2 when I played on the ps3 so that it matched the xbox but the trigger just isn't up to par so I'd always go back to the regular ps3 layout and use the R1 (bumper) to fire since it is crisp and that is where your hand naturally falls on the ds controller (for me anyway).
Really glad they appear to have upgraded the triggers on the new DS for the PS4. Hopefully MS will upgrade the d-pad on theirs. |

| Sorry I forgot about the bumpers and the triggers I was more focused on A/B/X/Y and X/TRI/CIR/SQR and I do know that some of the FPS allow for the changes in what the bumpers and triggers do. | |
