Background
Matt is a blue color American like many of us. He's been with his wife Amanda for 10 years and they have four kids. Recently they were given the unfortunate news that Amanda has breast cancer at the young age of 28. As you can imagine her treatment won't come cheap. They've adopted a positive motto "We got this cause God's got us!" in order to push thru this trial. This tournament's intent was to help one of our own fellow clan members, raise awareness, and most of all have fun while doing it.

Open to the public for both PS3 and XBOX!
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3
3v3 Domination - Single Elimination

Entry Fee / Donation
$10 / player

Best of 2 to Quarterfinals
Best of 4 from Quarterfinals to Finals

Brackets / Rounds will be determined by number of teams - if there is an odd number of teams one will be selected at random for a bye.

We're shooting for 16 teams (48 players total) for each console. Please keep in mind tournament details and/or dates may change based on these criteria. Check this thread often for updates.

You MUST have a registered Elite account and have your PS3 / XBOX account linked to it!!!
You need to be 18 years of age or older

Rules

General
Best of 2 to Quarterfinals
Best of 4 from Quarterfinals to Finals
Highest combined score amonst all matches wins
In the rare event of a tie score a 3rd or 5th game will be played and the winner of that match will ultimately be the victor.

Upon completion of each map teams will take turns hosting / inviting for the match to insure the utmost fairness. It is HIGHLY recommended you mark yourself as busy / private while competing.

Any match that has been started, may only be restarted in the following situations;

* Both teams agree to restart the match.
* A referee (if present) instructs the teams to replay the map.
* The internet connection for players on both teams is unplayable.

A map/match that has been completed, regardless of the settings or maps, will be considered a finished match/map and results will be recorded as such.

Matches may only be disputed if a team has concrete evidence of a rules violation not included in the settings or maps. Teams may file a dispute if they believe their opponent to be using players that are not on their roster, but are using the gamertag of another player. Remember, evidence must be presented.

- I'm in the process of trying to find tournament sponsorship to help add to the prize pool and further promote the event
- I'm working with two local charities in Michigan to help promote the event and/or help with sponsorship

I don't have a ps3 so I can only host and manage the xbox side of things. If someone reliable and organized wants to volunteer to help run the PS3 side I'm all ears.

Once a team is formed, how do we register our team / pay our entry? Do we do it through Fraggednation or through you?

Nevermind BD, I saw this:

I will be setting up a donation link after we've finalized the game type. All financials and registrants will be available via google docs - link to come.

I'm definitely in, but I know that the "XBOX 360 Elite Clan I" that plays around 8pm-11pm EST will need to learn to communicate more effectively. At this point, our call-outs consist of "he's over there" or "they're capping B." At least we have a month to practice.

Looks like i'm going to need to get a team together. Great idea btw.

I'd really like to put together a team that can win this thing. If anyone is wanting to do this, and has good communication skills, hit me up. If I can get a team together, it would be awesome to "practice" against other teams in some private matches following the rules above. Let me know if anyone would be interested in this.

Waiting on a confirmation for our 3rd. Scrims will be a must! Can we keep a running list of teams who are participating so we can do some scrimmages?

Any PS3 clan mates from Michigan willing to bring your rig over to setup so we can extend this for the other console? This would be hosted in the Metro Detroit area - Royal Oak to be specific. PLEASE PM ME

IF I was playing and IF I were to win by some act of God I would be donating my winnings to the family anyway. Hope this extended to the PS3 side. There are a BUNCH of PS3 clannies that I'm sure would enter.

That's noble Chris, but that pot is the incentive to get people to sign up to play in the first place. Without it you probably wouldn't have near as many people sign up.

I know, I know. With my father in law passing a couple of years ago from leukemia I know how the bills can stack up.

I don't think that we're going to have this on the PS3 side. I don't feel like organizing and running the thing. I have to much on my plate right now with work, family, and normal website and youtube things.

Well if someone from Michigan steps up on the PS3 side we can co-manage it together. If you're out of state there is only so much I can do. All you really need to do is bring your rig to where we're hosting it - and setup the lobbies and invite the teams to their designated play time and quasi referee. I can handle the brackets, etc.

Its easier than it sounds - step up or step aside Michiganders Its one day of your time is that too much to ask?

I see there's a lot of views but not much commitment. What do we need to do to boost interest? Are members concerned about stacked teams or too much money? Maybe we could do team captains? C'mon guys, this is to help a friend. What can we do to make this big?

Just a quick update. The two sites I've been looking at to use to manage the tournament have been rival spot and fraggnation. The issue I was having was splitting the prize pool on those sites to winners and the benefactor. Both sites said the're willing to help me out. So far I've only receive calls from rival nation.

So stay tuned regarding tournament registration. I'll probably extend the actual tournament date if it takes longer than expected to nail these final details.

Also there is a charity local here in Michigan called Gamers for Giving as well as the Gamers Outreach Foundation. I'm waiting to here back from them as well. Hoping they can help get the word out since they're tied to a few Michigan colleges.

As far as participation - look at it this way - this tournament is the price of one restaurant meal for a couple.

quick update: still trying to square away the details with the tournament host site(s)

I'm a little surprised at the lack of response here. Be honest do you guys just think the entry fee is too high? Or don't you feel you stand a chance at winning so you don't want to participate or are you all just cheap fucks? lol

I'm willing to pay the full entry, drop my team and pick up anyone interested? This sort of tournament is so damn fun. You'll love it!

Went to check out Rivalspot and found that there is also on the same day and time a turnney on the PS3 not sure if this is part of it or not but if it is saw sum guys from ps3 side said they might be interested...and that would blow the turnney up alot being on both consoles.....BD might be suming u wannt check not sure...but I rememeber you even saying suming about it being on both would blow it up...and if it is let me know what I can help do to spread the word of it for both consoles....catch ya'll soon....and again thanks...and know we think of you all everyday!!!
