| Looks like we could possibly see some head to head gameplay examples on both next gen consoles... Famitsu is holding a demonstration tomorrow before TGS. Curious to see what they show. -Via DualShockers"Tomorrow a special episode of Famitsu Live will be aired at 8 PM Japan Time (7 AM EST) on Nico Nico, and this time around it’s a juicy one.Not only the hosts will give information on Sony’s and Microsoft’s booths at Tokyo Game Show, but a PS4 and a Xbox One will be brought to the studio for some “raw” gameplay before the trade show opens. This is the first time in which the two upcoming consoles are pitched head to head in the same live broadcast. What games will be shown? and who will win the heated duel?" | |

| yeah... more like that will never be over lol! Either company could show their games visually dominating the other but you'd still have loyalists of the beaten manufacturer attempting to downplay the difference... or say they don't care about graphics... that graphics don't matter that much... or power means nothing without games that they like etc etc haha..
I'm curious to see if there will ever be a winner this generation.

| Sweet.
I hope they bring actual retail consoles and play BF4 on them.
Anything less than that will be disappointing imo. Ghosts on both? Bleh.
Forza on one/Drive Club on the other.......bleh.
Both on dev kits.......bleh.
Both running some title nobody in America gives a crap about.......double bleh.
We want to see BF4 on the retail consoles Famitsu!!!! Make it happen. |

| Yeah i think by now they'll both be retail... or you'd hope, right?!
And agree to BF4 or something else american and multiplayform... then show like the Forza 5 vs Drive club... then the killzone vs titanfall(or other appropriate xbox shooter) etc. some first party comparisons side by side.
I'd like to see an all around comparison.. not just multiplatform games... something to give us a hint of what to come if the One looks better or the PS4 does.

| You'd think they'd have retail units out there by now but they didn't last weekend again. |

| Its been confirmed that Launch title Ryse will not be 1080p.
Not good news for Xbox One fans especially after announcing that it would be.

Not good news for Xbox One fans especially after announcing that it would be. Saw that too... They brought it back to 900p (big difference visually from 1080p). Ryse will still look great at a little lower resolution... But I wonder what that says about the One graphically... If Crytek had to dial it down already... Uh oh.

Yeah... they ended up deciding on 900p and they are upscaling to 1080p and targeting 30fps (framerate isn't locked). IMO they should leave it at 900p with black boarders.720p | 1280 x 720 | 921,600 pixels 900p | 1600 x 900 | 1,440,000 pixels - 56% more pixels than 720p 1080p | 1920 x 1080 | 2,073,600 pixels - 125% more pixels than 720p, 44% more pixels than 900pBelow is an overview of both system's GPUs. (Since the One received a bump in CPU it's really 1.31TFLOPS now)

I think the debate will remain for a long while unless we start to see big differences in resolution and framerate in multi-plats or see one console have far better looking exclusives. Only time will tell... and in the end... a pretty game doesn't make a good game... games will have to be "good" first and foremost... then we can all nitpick how they look.

| That's 3 launch titles that are sub 1080p. Maybe those anon devs or whoever were actually right? | |

| ^^^I'm with ya there... #1 issue for us online multiplayer guys... devs need to do something... by all accounts the lag and poor hit detection is still present in the new Ghosts even on LAN... NOT good. Give me some shooter with ZERO lag/issues (i know, perfect world i wish) and i'll buy that shit up. | |

| How is a lag free game ever going to be possible on the internet? We can't all have zero ping, right? | |

| If you want an FPS with zero lag made by Activision, fortunately, they have a product for people who want zero lag, it's called COD single player mode. | |

| lag free as in zero perceived lag... of course "things take time" so nothing will ever be factually lag free. | |

This is true, however you should be able to achieve fairly equal lag between those playing so that someone doesn't win by winning the lag wars rather than by being better at the game. I think that the problem that Activision is going to have, at least in this iteration of their game, is that they didn't begin coding hit detection with dedicated servers in mind and so they need to rethink how that's handled.
