| OB and I came up with an idea for using anti tank mines after a particularly difficult cap/defend of a flag against a tank. After the 3rd tank showed up we were out of anti tank rounds and mines. ith out the right equipment you are not going to hurt this vehicle.
Opening Run we run Engineer and Support. Run to cap the first flag. Engineer plants mines around the road near the flag where it is likely a vehicle will drive. Support drops an Ammo. Engineer re-supplies and lays more mines.
Do this until there is an obnoxious amount of mines planted and any yahoo who drives up in any vehicle is in for a rude awakening.
100 xp for the vehicle kill. 100 xp for every person in the vehicle as well. Had a triple last night as a full Hummer ran over a mine. Good times and cheap kills.
Then move on to the next flag and do the same thing. The mines remain until destroyed and do not disappear after you die.
Suport and Engineer also run well together since you only have 3 anti tank rounds until you get the upgraded vest that holds more rounds. 2 rounds disable the tank. 3 rounds destroys a tank. It is helpful to have the support person there to provide this valueable resource.
I love to take out tanks. IMHO it is one of the most enjoyable things about the game. |

| Dont play it like any cod game! hug WALLS dont stand in the open and run away from tanks! Unless u cant kill it (Eng/Sup) I found that using one class and running it until I had the attachments I wanted for the gun help me. Use the land to help you move, watch out for the blur on the screen means someone is shooting at you and missing ie DUCK Learn to use the heli on the co-op (mission 2) save lots of deaths (I didnt do this ) | |

Duck and cover. As if learning maps wasn't hard enough, these maps are HUGE, the starter guns are shite, and the vehicles are a ton of fun to drive (effectively removing yourself from the combat equation). I think the highest # of kills Ive had in one game is 10 and Ive yet to pull a positive KDR. Approach the game with patience and a willingness to learn... |

| I am no stud, so keep that in mind. Last night had a game where I was 1-6 or something. Go slow. It is like BO where the first run to the flag is pretty safe. From there work behind cover to cover. Stand still and watch for movement. Dont stand out in the open. You will die fast. It is like havanna. If you walked up to B by walking in the middle of the street it is like that. Take your time aiming and tap tap tap. If you hit D pad down you change the fire rate from auto to semi auto. Recoil is not as bad this way. Recoil is bad. Bad Bad. When you sit on the trigger the gun goes up and you will lose the target. Support class (heavy Machine Gunner) is the worst. If you are standing and shooting this gun is quickly over people's heads. Lay down with this gun and ADS when possible since that deploys the bi-pod. Bi-pod helps reduce the recoil to something manageable. Jump in a vehicle as the gunner. You get more kills this way since all you have to do is shoot and not drive. I like riding as the gunner in a tank. You get kill assists if you are shooting at someone and the big gun in the tank blows them up. Camp and Snipe to learn where the people go Had a good sniper round (bad team round) as I picked off people as they ran to the objective. First sniper is a 3 hit kill (the way I aim anyway). I think it is easier to use than in BO. Got some headshots and lots of assists. I think you would like to be an engineer. You can spend the whole game looking for vehicles to blow up. I got some kills wounding a tank (not good anough shot to kill it) the engineer got out to repair it and I shot him in the back for the Cheap Kill. There are lots of guys going 2-7 and the like in games so sweat it. 1 good squad seems like they can change a game so take the time to learn how to do stuff. you are in a 12 man team so if you are off learing to fly or drive a tank then you are not hurting the team too terrible. In BO/MW3 you are rewarded for kills. It seems in BF3 you are penalized for dying. Dom (conquest) is a countdown of 'tickets'. 1 ticket is one respawn. If you are respwaning a tone then you are hurting the team. Staying alive is more important than kills I think. Holdign points causes the other team to burn tickets. First team to 0 is the loser. I want to say we won a match last night where OB was like 9-13 but at the top of the leaderboard due to all the vehicle kills, resupplies, assists, and the like. Being a killer helps, but there are so many other things to do and get you XP. |

| Some weapons also have a 3 round burst option along with full and semi auto.
Another reason to use the support class is C4 which is unlocked later. You can also take down vehicles (or help) with that.
Time to I guess pop BF3 back in and play huh? |

| Yes Carl it is time you came back.
I need to find the 3 round burst gun.
TY Kagan. I need a tac light like right now since those things are a pain in the rear
Blew up my first truck with the C4 today on the Bazzar map. Next time I will do 2 charges since I only disabled it the first time and was then shot. Woot! |

| Can you put C4 on your jeep and then use it as a suicide car? Just hop out while it is at full speed and trigger C4? |

| Been there and done the Infantry stuff in real life. sounds fairly realistic from what I have been reading. I will leave the infantry roles to your gentlemen. I am going to try and teach myself to fly baby! Figure offering close air support and air supperiority will help the squad. My big plan to level up my flight will be to crash. Crash a lot, but always into a group of troops, tanks, hummvees, etc. Kamikazii close air support seems a very doomish type of gameplay. sounds like a winner to me. Once I get leveled up I should be able to fly a bit better and really add some support. |

| Only the choppers are really worth learning to fly and even then it's rare to truly contribute to the team if you're playing an objective based game. Jets are just fluff and fun but zero aid in your team winning. |

| Good to know. Wasn't sure how adequate the CAS would really be. thanks for the heads up. If it doesn't contribute to the team then why bother. |

| I have not been killed by a plane one time. Apache seems decent at killing tanks.
Audio- what a great idea. I am going to try this tonight. |

Jets are just fluff and fun but zero aid in your team winning. I disagree. Planes can be useful if you have armor heading towards your location. They can also take out Helis and other planes. Not playing this game on console yet, I'm not sure if it's the same as BF2 was on PC, but there were plane whores a-plenty. Maybe it's just not that easy to fly on console. All air support is really only good if the team directs the pilot. They can be used effectively to escort them to a flag or hover while they cap. Also to chase off enemy planes. I should probably shut it until I have actually played the game though. Sorry for my outburst. Seacrest OUT! |

| We'll have to try the engr/support idea if Wini can stop bailing out of games. I had some rough games last night and I blame wini. |

| Darkker- The only thing you have to apologize for is advising from the sidelines instead of in game. Anderson- Feel free to blame me. My kid was sick last night. I think the illness stems from one thing- Lego Themed Pajamas. Seriously though when I left your game I was under the full on Stink Eye and had to leave. |

| Don't bail on BF3! Let the kid fend for himself. Builds character. Ah, who am I kidding! I still can't figure out how to sneak my BF3 out of the package without alerting the warden. May have to wait until Christmas morning to join in all the comradarie. |

Seriously though when I left your game I was under the full on Stink Eye and had to leave. Whatever justification you want to use so that you can cope and make it through the day. (hope your kid gets better, sick kids are no fun, plus they REALLY eat into the PS3 time!). |

I am out for Xmas and will not return to PS3 until Tues next week. Inlaws have dial up in the boonies. No point to even bringing the PS3. - MiiisterAnderson wrote:

Glad you brought this up. One thing I do is thing helpful thoughts like "Things kinda bum me out, but at least I am not Anderson who has to tell his gaming buddies that it is not him playing Lego Wars, but his kid." This seems to help me. |

| I am bummed out about Anderson also. I always see him on lego Star wars and he never joins my lego star wars party. what the hell? I take the time to put in the disk, fire up the mulitplayer, and he won't even bother joining. ahem... I mean joing my kid's party so his kids and my kids can play star wars together. Not sure why Anderson's kids are up on star wars at 1am either. |
