This may already be on here if I'd search, but wondering if anyone has any good links for helping out noobs to get their feet under them. I checked out Killface's vid on the main page. Looking at some on You Tube as well. I just changed up my lineup from an M4 to the M16A4. Think getting rid of the fully auto helped. I was watching a vid this morning talking about getting the Type 95. I'm trying to unlock that so I can try it out. Getting a little more used to the maps. I know the biggest thing is just play, play, play. But damn I'm getting tired of just having 3 to 6 kills.

Are you playing objective based games, KC, or TDM? You can get more kills in Objective games like DOM (which is a clan favorite). The Type 95 is good. If you are a poor aim, spray and pray getting the Mk14 with rapid fire is a great gun. Lots of 2 shot kills with it from med-long range, the single shot really forces you to slow down and work on accuracy. Give it a whirl, plus play with your controllers sensitivity. Slowing down the sensitivity seems to help.

Best tip would be to have fun. For some that is getting 3-6 kills, others its trying to get multi kills with Mrs. Javeline. Others just like to run around like a chicken with their head cut off using akimbo weapons. The only way you will play more and get better is if your having fun.

Besides running the MK14 as my deer rifle class, the Type 95 is my second favorite.Slap an Acog with ext mags on that rascal along with Marksman, and you can snipe across the map with it.Slowing down help me more than anything.Look at Crazy Nixon's video on Summit on the youtube channel. He's just walkingg around being cautious of his surroundings and not running wide open.I know that was BOs,but you can use the same strategy for any FPS and get good results. That's my .02.

I would the biggest tip I can give is get to know the maps as best as possible. If you can get to the point u know them well enough u can move through them with just looking at your mini map.
Also on the same note each map plays diferent for diferent game types. Be aware of this and try to firgure out the flow of the enemy

Was just watching a video that talked about using specialist as your package because you get more points to help unlock the goodies. Going to try that tonight. I've been having a helluva lot of fun since joining the clan two days ago. It's nice playing with some guys that communicate. My thing is I'm big into being a team player and am not a selfish guy, so sometimes I feel like I'm weighing the team down. At the same time, though, I'm getting some good tips just by playing and watching with them.

If you consider yourself a proper noob, then I'd say there's a few things you may need to try.
- Only play Objective based games w/the clan, think about where the enemy spawn is and keep facing that direction. - Stop Running, it takes longer to ADS and is the biggest cause of Deaths for Noobs. Death + Anger = Revenge Run = More Death More Anger - Use a fully Auto AR like the Scar, ACR etc use med lines of sight, USE Cover and learn to Burst Fire - Pay Attention to the UAV if your team are all on your right, look ahead. If a Team triangle disappears there's an enemy near by. - Big One hear, Avoid the middle of the Map like the plague. Stick to the edges.
This is my 1st vid for the clan, I make a point of sticking to the edges of the map. Going Slow and explaining why

@Killface you forgot "carry a stinger to shoot stuff out of the sky, watch my back and run in front of bullets that are going to kill me."
in all seriousness Mr face has some good videos and tips, others in the clan also post good video and tips check the Video section.
Check You Tube and find some commentators that you enjoy.

This is one reason im not a fan of MW3 anymore is that it doesnt really allow a slow cautious playstyle. Too geared for the CQB and run n gun. Not alot of strategy IMO. Its such a difference compared to the last IW game. MW2 map layouts gave you the option of how you want to play. Blops had nice layouts and gave you quite a few ways to control the map.

Hope to see you BF3 guys come back to play a few games here and there on MW3. Once they drop the BF3 price back down I plan on giving it a whirl.

I plan on popping MW3 back in soon just to see some of you old bastards again, and see if MW3 still forces me to rage. With the new comms it may be more enjoyable.(One can hope). Hopefully, I still remember the maps and how to play and won't drag the team down too damn much. If it really sucks I will have to break the riot shield back out and play a few games of bonk bonk mutherfucker around the B flag. Maybe FBD will be running one of his EMP derby/snipers in the mist/everyone play the same class and streaks game. The BBQ/M60 parties in BO were a blast.

I think the best thing to look at is you need to know how you like to play. if you like to run and gun, then you need to pick accordingly your strategies for that. running and gunning you need to work on dropshotting, and being aware of your surroundings while moving. You also need to know which loadouts to choose as well. An assault rifle wont be a good choice in that type of play. A shotgun or smg will suit you very well in that type of playstyle.
If you like more of a further back approach, then the same things need to be considered. for instance, you may not want a shotgun when you sit back as a mid range guy. An assault rifle will suit you well in that situation. This also gives you a chance to play more of a support role as well with rockets and AA weapons.
Lastly, you can camp too. This is an essential role in Dom, SnD, and most objective based games (sorry kill confirmed isnt objective based its TDM with a twist imho) Sniper rifles or Assault Rifles such as the mk14 are great for this type of strategy.
All types are viable and essential in objective based games. You just need to know which one you want to start perfecting first. All of them also can be either self oriented, or team oriented.
Another thing that helped me, was watching videos and listening to the pros explain how they think inside a match. I personally found Xjawz to be very insightful as a COD player and not an ass that flaunts his prowess. I believe that he generally has very good concise tips that I took to heart.
Another couple of things, one of the biggest things that took me forever to get used to was PAY ATTENTION TO THE MINIMAP this is probably one of the single most important things you can do to win firefights. you knowing what you are coming up against is more important than knowing anything else. That means you can set them up for traps, flank them, many many different options. and lastly, when you are able to, get a headset. even a cheaper headset ups your game by hundreds of percent. if you can hear footsteps, you will be more alert to what is coming your way.
Other than that, know how the spawns work in the objectives that you are playing and be mindful of your players. they have personalities that you can pick up on and figure out how to exploit their weaknesses just as they can yours.
OH one last thing, DONT GET FRUSTRATED. this is just a game, and if going 3 and 13 is ruining your day, put it down and know that your getting laid while those kids calling you a noob are fapping to internet porn. It makes you feel better instantly.

Rocklion,
just unlocked type95 today. The damage and accuracy are a big boost over the M4 that I have been using. Now I know how I die with one hit and opponents were taking multiple hits to kill. Type 95 is awesome so far.

dont be afraid to hipfire. start shooting at the enemy while you ADS.
use steady aim, it decreases the size of your crosshairs when you are not ADSing, so it is easier to get the enemy "centered" before you start shooting.
i am a run-n-gun style player, this has helped me recently as i have be sniping more and trying to figure out the art of quickscoping, this is something that is hella hard and not easy by any stretch of the imagination.
next time you go up against a sniper that is owning you, know that he/she has practiced this for a while and i have much more respect for snipers now that i have been trying to use one recently......but i digress.
like others have said, PLAY WITH THE CLAN as much as possible, spam FRs to people, spam invites, try to get into games with clannies.
try out different weapons, dont get stuck on one weapon type, or one weapon until you find one that suits you, damage, accuracy, mobility, etc.
dont be afraid to use assassin to keep you off the radar, even the "pros" run assassin.
use hardline to get your streaks earlier, use support class so you streak doesnt reset when you die.
akimbo fmg9s, although i hate them, use them, anything you hear someone say "God i hate ______, that gun is so overpowered!" USE THAT!
people complain about weapons being overpowered unless they use it, then its just a "good" weapon.
Striker, even after the patch is good ACR, Scar-H, Type 95, all good assault rifles PP90, P90, MP7(prob the best), good smgs all the snipers are good except dragonuv/RSASS, only because you get alot of 2 hit kills
any akimbo machine pistol is good, fmg9s seem to be a favorite, i like mp9 silenced especially if i am running a primary non-slienced.
hope some/any of this helps

It's an old thread but lots of good information on it.
